Abstract

In the Tokyo Traffic Control System, the signal control and the information providing are being operated automatically, based on traffic situation detected by vehicle sensors. When an accident occurred, the accident information is input into the system by an operator, and is provided to drivers through various kinds of media. It is possible to provide the accident information to drivers immediately and to control traffic signals according to the congestion caused by accident, when the accident information collected from the emergency call system in real-time is transmitted to the traffic control system. In this paper, how to collect emergency information and system functions are discussed. (A*)
