Abstract

China is undergoing a process of rapid motorisation. Vehicle registrations are growing at a rate of between 10% and 20% per year. We used data from an injury surveillance system based in China's rural Sichuan Province to examine patterns and trends in motor vehicle death rates for the period 1983 to 1992. (A)
