Abstract

The current review aims to provide an overview of the various issues in the field of survivability of passengers and crew in aircraft accidents, and to put forward recommendations for future developments. The following issues are discussed: impact protection (Section 2), fire survivability (Section 3), and evacuation (Section 4). In the final Section some regulatory and implementation issues are briefly discussed. (Author/publisher)
