Abstract

The Dutch cyclists' union ENFB has supported the idea of retro- reflecting wheel circles. These make a bicycle recognizable as such. This however does not imply that the ENFB has embraced the idea of side reflection without criticism. The loose retro- reflecting provisions are technically poor and should be forbidden and tyres with retro- reflection should be mandatory. Specifications for bicycles are desirable.
