Abstract

Bus independent suspension systems are compared with the conventional beam axle solution. The main suspension types are described together with their characteristics. The elements from which a design is prepared are outlined together with the need for an overall approach. Some past examples cover the design options available and the future possibilities point to new developments on the way.
