Abstract

A new experience of production of indicators on transport in the following four African pilot cities is implemented: Abidjan (Ivory Coast)), Lomé (Togo), Ouagadougou (Bourkina Fassa), and Yaounde (Cameroun). A limited number of indicators have been selected, but there still remain difficulties in obtaining the necessary information. This paper points out that progress can be achieved only if there is institutional willingness and continuity of effort. The English title of the paper is: "Indicators on urban transport systems in Sub-Saharian Africa : a new tentative".
