Abstract

After defining the term environment, the authors stress the fact that universities and colleges should place more emphasis on highway engineering courses on environmental and ecological studies, so that future highway engineers might be fully qualified to assess environmental considerations in making decisions regarding highway route location and in selecting construction and maintenance methods.
