Abstract

In order to investigate the influence of injury severity and injury pattern at the thorax when enlarging the bearing surface area of the shoulder belt, frontal collisions were simulated with restrain cadavers. Broad belt systems seem to diminish thorax injuries compared to normal standard belts at simulated collisions.
