Abstract

Pedestrian accident data recorded in general police accident procedure, for one year in New South Wales, Australia, has been analyzed. Because the vehicle-pedestrian collision is so complex, it is difficult to define which injuries are related to specific vehicle design features. The general frontal styling, i. e. contour and height, however, has a probable greater influence on pedestrian trauma than does the design of specific features.
