Abstract

The purpose of the research was to develop tentative guidelines for highway geometrics and pavement surface characteristics to ensure adequate vehicle control during manoeuvres on highway sections containing a combination of horizontal and vertical alignment. The pavement skid resistance at a given site should be adequate for the characteristics of the site.
