Abstract

After Skinner and Visagie streets, in the central area of Pretoria, had been converted to a pair of one-way streets ever a length of eight blocks, a study was made to determine what effect this change would have on the accident pattern. accidents which occurred on these two streets and their intersections during the two years before and after the introduction of one-way operation, were analysed with special attention to the total accident pattern and the vehicle manoeuvres.
