Abstract

The manner in which vision is affected by luminance patterns produced on the carriageway of lit roads was investigated with reference to subjective appraisals and visual performance experiments. Subjectively acceptable degrees of luminance uniformity were studied on a dynamic street model and the influence of visual performance was determined.
