Abstract

Considerations for the drafting of measurement criteria for evaluating motor vehicle headlamps are outlined. One of the most important conditions for the introduction of measurement regulation is that the illumination of traffic signs above the road is no longer part of the function of the headlamp. Such signs should be separately illuminated. A real improvement in restricting glare is considered possible if the measurement criteria were adopted. For the covering abstract see ITRD E123380.
