Abstract

Official statistics ascribe such a low percentage of accident causes to the condition of the vehicle, that most authors are of opinion that the proportion due to mechanical defects of the vehicles is higher. This is confirmed by the analysis of many reports written by the author on request of the public prosecutor and concerning serious accidents which were investigated on the spot, immediately and in detail.
