Abstract

This paper describes wind tunnel tests with full scale vehicles and scaled down models. The influence of design features, air resistance, and lift on driving performance and safety are analysed. Ventilation systems and air pressure conditions are discussed as well as the precautions taken to reduce surface deposits. The various modes of the new wind tunnel developed for Daimler-Benz AG are also described.
