Abstract

Tyre/road-friction determines which driving manoeuvres are physically possible and is therefore of utmost importance for vehicle safety. The friction-level is influenced by many parameters which can only be measured in their entirety on real roads under natural conditions. The research work on the influencing parameters was done in order to develop sensors which can give information about the available friction potential. The results presented in this paper stem from ongoing work on friction-detection.
