Abstract

Examples taken from traffic safety measures are shown used as proving evidence that reward as a means of furthering the motivation for avoiding accidents can achieve far more than education, enforcement and engineering. Furthermore, attention is paid to enforcement and reward in relation to individual and group safety norms, and to the theory of moral development.
