Abstract
A review on the literature on information processing in the functional visual field is presented. First, theories on serial and parallel processing are discussed. Second a discussion is presented on the role of the visual angle on visual information processing; that is to say, how visual orientation occurs when information is presented in the periphery. Research on dynamic stimulus-situations is more relevant to realistic situations such as traffic behaviour.
