Abstract

This report is one of a series of studies which were performed on the Information Lead Distance (ILD) required by drivers in order to execute highway turn maneuvers, such as lane changes and turns. Experiments were performed to collect empirical data to be used in ILD estimating procedures. Measures which were both sensitive and reliable in determining ILD's were indentified and used to estimate ILD's for selected intersections.
