Abstract

This synthesis identifies "best practices" for the seamless sharing of information throughout all phases of the project delivery process. Best practices were reported by survey respondents and through literature review in the department of transportation (DOT) Planning, Design, Procurement, Construction and Operations and Maintenance functional areas, including procedural, institutional, human and technical constraints and mechanisms. Principal investigators surveyed DOT information technology and project/program management professionals on DOT data exchange practices. (Author/publisher)
