Abstract

The development of infrastructure in Western Europe demands a clear vision on the role of the different transport modes and network structures. Besides physical infrastructure different aspects of organisation have an influence. The way infrastructure costs are measured has to be changed. The Netherlands have to pay more attention to rail transport and combined transport. The possibilities of water transport have to be enlarged by improving of logistic facilities and organisation.
