Abstract

This issue of Current Topics includes over 80 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the injuries that occur in different types of traffic accidents including motorcycles. Articles include those involving rear-end collisions, front end and side impacts. Also included are measures in vehicle design to combat injury figures, in particular air bags, seats and head restraints. Methods of predicting injuries from traffic accidents are included. For more studies concerning children, please see CT44.3 In-car safety: children update (2000-2003). These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 2003 and 2006. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
