Abstract

The significance of international traffic accident data and its utility to designers and regulatory agencies depends largely upon the manner in which the data are compared. Occupant injury is discussed in relation to exterior and interior vehicle damage, use of the restraint system by occupants, occupant ejection, occupant seat position, accident configuration, etc. The constraints on these results are also presented.
