Abstract

This report describes the injury information needed by the National Center for Statistics and Analysis NCSA, the usefullness and impact of linked state data for comprehensive highway safety analyses, data linkage concepts, and sources of injury data. It presents current obstacles to crash injury data linkage. Finally, the report discusses current NHTSA projects and future data trends which will help the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA meet is goals.
