Abstract

An attempt was made to systematize injuries sustained by the unbelted driver. The injuries sustained were due to the direct blow in the front windshield, to the compression force of the steering wheel, and the position of the lower extremities hit by the instrument panel. Twelve cases, selected from a large series, are presented for illustration. A syndrome grouping in the three-level injuries found in the injured driver is presented.
