Abstract

One of the most important approaches to the prevention of injury relates to the control of energy at the source, so that it will not impinge upon the body. Highway transportation remains to be one of the most serious environmental hazards. Vehicle safety standards, with a few exceptions, have not been based on operational testing and experimental findings. However, there is reason to believe that significant improvement will take place.
