Abstract

The development and application of empirical equations relating vehicle damage as expressed by the Collision Deformation Code to occupant injury as expressed by the A.M.A.'s Abbreviated Injury Scale, are discussed. The discussion deals only with front collisions. Different equations for unrestrained, lap belt restrained and three-point harness restraint front seat occupants are presented.
