Abstract

In an effort to improve the usefulness of the limited available data on pedestrian injuries, the construction of a single computerized data file of available pedestrian accident data was undertaken. The resulting data file contains general information on items such as location, time, weather, lighting condition and so forth. Of greater interest for immediate analysis were the specific items of vehicle impact speed, vehicle contact areas, and the resulting injuries.
