Abstract

This CD presents TNO’s and TUDelft’s new Dynamic Traffic Assignment model INDYdta. The state-of-the-art algorithm INDY, developed by TNO-FEL, TNO Inro and TU Delft, allows the analysis of traffic scenarios on transportation networks, the assessment of new infrastructure projects and the evaluation of traffic management strategies. Key applications envisaged for INDY include: · Evaluating different roadway infrastructure and integrated traffic management strategies. · Given travel demand and infrastructure supply, prediction of traffic flows and travel times with application to route guidance. · Evaluating pricing schemes that vary with location, time and prevailing roadway conditions. The model can easily be adapted to model high-occupancy facilities and special-use lanes in conjunction with variable pricing schemes. · Planning for emergency situations such as the evacuation of large population areas.
