Abstract

Deep-corrugated steel plate projects have been constructed in Canada since 1993. Over 30 bridges have been installed to date. This paper will discuss the merits of three of these innovative bridge projects as follows: Hickory Creek Bridge, Forest, Ontario; CP Rail Overpass, Lethbridge, Alberta; McBain Brook Bridge, Taymouth, New Brunswick. Consideration was given to four of the most important criteria for bridge design today: versatility, cost, installation time and durability. (A)
