Abstract

Deliverable 1 is the result of the IDEA Work package 1, entitled Locating the training needs of PSN driving assessment personnel. It reflects the results of tasks A1.1, A1.2, A1.3 and A1.4. This deliverable is divided in five main chapters. The first one presents the different tools that are used for the verification of the PSN ability to drive, depending on the stage and the objective of the assessment course. The second one describes the steps that must be followed in the assessment procedure of the PSN. This includes all steps of the assessment procedures, from welcoming the disabled applicant and psychologically support him/her, to perform paper and pencil, static and dynamic rig tests, test driving in simulators or in adapted vehicles, etc. The third one concerns with the enhancement of the quality of the assessment procedure in order to help the assessors. This enhancement demands the use of the ICT tools and the advanced communication media. The fourth chapter presents the actual needs of the personnel involved in fitness to drive assessment. This presentation involved the design of several questionnaires for assessors, manufacturers and assessment tool developers. The final chapter outlines the training needs of the PSN assessment personnel, as resulted from the previous chapters. (Author/publisher)
