Abstract

The Inresponse project consists of demonstrating the efficacy of an integrated management strategy for incidents and to evaluate the various concerns with its application. This paper presents the whole demonstration implemented in the Ile de France region including a comparison between the radar and the video technologies for incident detection and the organisational and technical process of a large experimentation of incident detection in an urban and periurban site. The additional impacts on traffic are also mentioned due to their importance on already very congested expressways.
