Abstract

In summary, this booklet endeavours to raise designers’ awareness of some issues in need of particular attention when constructing or altering roundabouts. Some of the identified problems highlighted by safety audits can easily be modified during the design process. If poor design is left unchanged, the necessary alterations to rectify the roundabout design could be costly. Therefore when designing roundabouts, engineers should use all the resources available such as guidelines, standards and technical publications. A safety audit and/or review should always be considered. (Author/publisher)
