Abstract

This paper describes an new system of signalisation (Sylvia) which, as a luminous variable alphanumeric system, combines the visual efficiency of fibre optics with the versatility of matrix modules (magnetic elements). This new type of variable message system informs the driver of any event in real time, while ensuring good visibility and legibility under any conditions, real flashing of messages, low power consumption, reduced maintenance and increased reliability.
