Abstract

The present driving test and prescribed procedures used to establish the adequacy of an applicant for a driver's licence have failed to ensure that the "finished product"- the driver- is equipped to the standard required, and knows and uses the maximum level of traffic safety observation on the road. Recommendations for a more effective result are presented.
