Abstract

This report presents a functional and technical description of the Instrumented CAr for Computer Aided Driving (ICACAD). ICACAD was built as a tool for human factors evaluation of sophisticated in-vehicle systems in real traffic. It is concluded that ICACAD can increase the chance of success of virtually any kind of newly developed interactive sophisticated in-vehicle systems. The reason for this is that ICACAD allows human factors research to become an integral part of the system design process.
