Abstract

The cars with the best injury experience were predominantly large station wagons and regular four-door models. No regular two-door models were among the cars with the best injury experience. Twelve cars has at least one claim frequency result that was more than 35 percent better than the result for all cars combined. Nine of these cars with the best injury experience were manufactured in the United States, all of them by General Motors. Vans, pickups, and utility vehicles as a group had better injury results than the average results for passenger cars.
