Abstract

Detailed and reliable injury data, as well as crash data, are needed to allow many important analyses of traffic crash casualties to be undertaken. The possibility of linking hospital morbidity survey data with police-reported traffic crash data are re-examined. The main remaining obstacle is the need to protect the privacy of crash victims by ensuring that the data collected by the sources remain confidential.
