Abstract
Despite some long-standing individual examples such as community buses, local demand-responsive transport, bicycle plans and traffic calming, the potential for the packaging of local transport initiatives has only recently begun to be fully realised. A 2 day conference on 'Integrated Transport for Local Communities' showed that local communities in Australia have already made considerable progress with integrated local transport plans of varying scope.
