Abstract

Traffic Management Systems (TMS) and Freight Transport Management Systems (FMS) have developed as two separate domains, but have now reached a point where integration could bring mutual benefits. This paper will give an overview of recent developments in this field and will describe developments, which will function as driving forces to bridge the gap between the two domains. The potential of integrated applications that are now emerging, is discussed at the end of this paper by showing examples of integration.
