Abstract

Franca, a city with 280 thousand inhabitants, has elaborated and is settling a Modernising Plan for a public transportation System called Transport 2001. The Plan is based on the integration of a bus line system that has been completely reformulated with the adoption of an integrated free-transfer ticket by time control, using electronic ticketing, without the construction of integration terminals. Franca is one of the first cities in Brazil to set up this model successfully. This has enabled the public power to control and plan the city transportation, including service to the disabled.
