Abstract

This paper examines trends in the development of public transport passenger information systems within Australia. The role of various systems is examined, along with the implications of the absence of links between various systems. The paper illustrates developments and proposed directions in the field using South-East Queensland as a case study, and highlights the key role to be played by state governments in facilitating the development of truly integrated systems.
