Abstract

The imbalance between supply and demand of parking spaces in urban areas can be seen in many cities. The main objective of this paper is to discuss the importance of adopting policies at "integrated parking management". Another objective is to discuss the potential of utilising Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in this process. The Brazilian city of Niteroi is considered as a case study in the paper.
