Abstract

This study was designed to determine whether an interaction between age and alcohol exists, such that the effects of alcohol on dark adaptation time would be greater for older persons. The results show that there is a decline in dark adaptation with age, and therefore suggestions are offered to apprize the older person of the problems encountered with reduced illumination levels.
