Interaction of forward and backward visual masking.

Abstract

An investigation was conducted into the interaction of the forward and backward masking effects of unpatterned visual stimuli. It was found that detection of a test spot was easier under conditions that should have provided both forward and backward masking than under either forward or backward masking alone.
