Abstract

The evaluation of three possible mixes of transportation along a main street of commercial character with vehicular traffic was performed. The study indicated, contrary to most expectations, that improvement of vehicular flow was by far the least desirable change to be made. To remove parking and/or to widen the roadway, to provide improved vehicular flow, would severely restrict the shoppers Access to stores.
