Abstract

The objective of this research is to address the differences of the road user behavior between China and Germany, and to create the situation-countermeasure relationships for analyzing the road users’ reaction in traffic conflicts. Video observations and image processing are employed during field data collection in Beijing and Munich. On basis of the trajectory analyses, the data matrix including pedestrian behavioral parameters, driver behavioral parameters and situational factors are investigated. Hopefully the work will give impulses for intercultural adaptation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. (Author/publisher)
