Abstract

Several systems of categorization of medicinal drugs have been proposed, mainly based on the pharmacological effects of drugs on psychomotor functions they remain a first step for an improvement of the knowledge but rest usually on complex systems of categories, up to six, and are not really reliable with a practical approach for decision makers like medical practitioners in occupational medicine or medical authorities for driving licences. They do not take into account the therapeutical indication of those drugs which may concern pathologies causing a problem for driving.
