International literature review of cycle helmets.

Abstract

This literature review was carried out by TRL for the Road Safety Division of the Department of Transport (DOT). The review incorporates four main topics: the effect of cycle helmets in reducing head injuries; strategies used abroad and in the UK to increase helmet wearing; attitudes to cycle helmets; and cyclye helmet wearing rates.
