Abstract

Results of a research to intersection improvements for pedestrians are summarized. The first phase of the study was directed at identifying and defining the safety and operational problems related to the interaction of pedestrians and vehicles at intersections. The second phase deals with the development, evaluation, and design criteria of countermeasures and/or techniques that address the problems identified in the first phase.
